What is Inquiry-Based Learning?
My name is Miss Babin and I am delighted and greatly honoured to be the Head of Primary at Ecole Ruban vert. I am an experienced Headteacher who throughout my teaching career has worked both as a Pastoral and Academic Leader in many outstanding inner London schools, international schools as well as Rural schools and who has acquired both Primary and Secondary teaching qualifications.
In the last three schools I have worked at as Headteacher I was overseeing a Nursery, a Primary and a secondary Department. Under my Leadership, students make great levels of progress and they gain higher aspirations through encouraging genuine high expectations.
I have been exposed to various teaching contexts and I believe this will be very useful in my new role to benefit the school.
My subject specialism is Modern Foreign Languages in both French and Spanish and I have taught various other subjects too throughout my career.
I am a truly bilingual French and English Speaker and I have lived in the UK since summer 1990.
I believe that excellence will be achieved by constantly challenging students, raising aspirations, and by insisting that good behaviour enables great learning. Traditional values of tolerance, courtesy and respect are to be valued under my Headship at the ERV Primary section.
I believe that education is more than just academic success. This involves developing the whole person through confidence, responsibility and leadership; creating opportunities for our young people to develop their talent and creativity; capitalising on diversity, not uniformity; creating an environment of vibrancy and enthusiasm for learning.
Using the PYP collaboration principles, my aim as a leader is to develop student’ self-belief, determination, resilience, ambition, and empathy with others, and not be afraid to chase their dreams. Our students will be optimistic, articulate, compassionate young people ready to take their place in society. Putting the environment and our Earth first.
I am looking forward to enjoying a brand new lifestyle in Gabon and my aim is to make a positive lasting difference in young people’s lives, being part of the local community and getting to know you all.
