EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Extra Curricular Activities make up the majority of Enrichment at ERV. Our after-school programme encourages children to explore a range of disciplines to supplement their learning.

ECAs are designed to help students learn new skills, gain a more global understanding of this country and continent on a global context. They will develop their teamwork, collaboration, planning and confidence through a range of fun and interesting activities. The vast majority of ECAs are free of charge to all students, and are delivered by passionate teachers and qualified sports coaches and trainers.

Our ECAs are spread across three different disciplines that correspond with the International Baccalaureate Learner Profile.

Each ECA encourages one or more of the disciplines of Creativity, Activity and Service.

CAS PROGRAMME

CAS programme enables students to enhance their personal and interpersonal development by learning through experience. It provides opportunity for self-determination and collaboration with others, fostering a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment from their work.

Creativity

These are activities that inspire students to develop their creativity but also to actually create something new in themselves or their school. These include art, music, drama, dance, and many more.

Activity

These are sporting and active ECAs that encourage all students to care for their health and well-being. Additionally, sports help students develop teamwork and collaboration, improve their overall health and understanding of their body and to promote self confidence and healthy stress management.

Service

This is a key part of every student’s profile. We encourage all students to participate in service projects to help them give back to the community. Service ECAs let students work together to develop group projects to help those less fortunate, while applying their classroom learning into a real, everyday setting. They are highly practical and very rewarding.

External Specialist Activities

ERV strives to collaborate with qualified experts from around Gabon to help our students develop new skills and passions. Our External Specialist Programme uses certified specialist, national Federation coaches and highly experience teachers to offer a wide range of interesting and rewarding activities for all ages.

ERV students can strive for excellence in all areas by participating in our ESA programme, which run on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings.

ESAs offer our students a chance to work with Gabon’s leading experts and Federations without travelling outside of ERV’s campus. These activities are open to a range of students from all ages and classes.

The CIS Accreditation Team commended the, “SLT and teaching staff for providing students with a wide range of extracurricular activities to complement the school’s curriculum”.
