The Director Mr Jean-Luc AUPOIX
Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and members of the wider community of ERV
Following careful consideration and an extensive search the Board are pleased to announce the appointment of a highly qualified and extensively experienced Director to build on our previous success and ensure that ERV realises it’s mission to become Africa’s most enterprising school, focusing on sustainability and innovation.
We are therefore delighted to inform you that M. Jean-Luc Aupoix will lead our school from August 2025. With more than 30 years of global educational experience, Jean-Luc has built an established career characterised by his expertise in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and startup initiatives. His professional journey has spanned Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, where he has been instrumental in leading accreditation processes as a chairperson for Middle States America visiting teams and promoting innovative educational practices.
As a committed educator and leader, Jean-Luc has adeptly navigated various cultural environments, implementing effective strategies tailored to the specific needs of students and institutions. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he is a devoted family man who values time spent with his children and spouse. His dedication to education and family reflects his belief in the transformative power of learning and the importance of fostering future generations. At the heart of his educational philosophy is the belief that learning can change lives and improve the world. Education is key to both individual and collective advancement, as well as for achieving shared prosperity and a brighter future for everyone.
Jean-Luc will be moving to Libreville with his wife and two sons, who will be attending ERV. This school is familiar territory for him, having served as its founding Director from 2013 to 2016. However, as the saying goes, “If the rhythm of the drum changes, the dance must adapt.”
It is our ambition that his energy and commitment will enable the continued growth and development of ERV, further enhance our academic results, strengthen teaching and learning, and support each member of our school to achieve success.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs. Karen E. Mort
President of the Board,
for and on behalf of the Board
