‘Sustainability’

The competition is open to all ERV Primary and Secondary students.

At any time you would like to take photographs for the competition during the school day using your personal device you will need to request a Photo Pass from Mr Opiyo.

 

Submitting the Photos

  1. Submission date: Monday 7 February 2022
  2. The participant can submit up to 3  photographs maximum
  3. Upload your photograph(s) on Google forms which will be shared with you via your student ERV email address 
  4. You will have to sign a form confirming that you have taken the photos yourself
  5. You will then receive an email confirming receipt of your photographs.
  6. If your photo is selected, you  will then be requested to send the image in high-resolution to the art teacher:  l.opiyo@ecolerubanvert.com

NB: All selected photos will be printed & displayed at our ERV photography exhibition on 7 March 2022, as well as being shared with the ERV Community online.

 

Photo Specifications:

  1. Photographs should be in the theme of ‘Sustainability’. They could illustrate aspects of our school’s environment or sustainability actions taken by you or our community.
  2. If you take a picture with a camera, make sure the image is High Resolution (1600 x 1200 pixels minimum)
  3.  If you take a  photograph with a smartphone, make sure that the photo is Full Size (4MP minimum)

 

Photo selection:

  1. The competition judges are formed of a panel of artistic experts. They will review each photograph and will identify the overall winner, as well as the selected photos to be displayed at the exhibition. 
  2. Winners will be announced and awarded at the exhibition opening on 7 March 2022

 

Photos will be judged using the criteria below:

  1. Inspirational power: the overall impact of the  photographs, providing detailed and visual appeal to the audience
  2. Message: to what extent the  photographs delivers a powerful message
  3. Originality and Creativity: to what extent the  photographs are original and creative
  4. Technical Quality: colour, lighting, composition, exposure and focus
  5. Overall Artistic Impression: artistic merit
