A great pride to have our ERV students representing Gabon’s youth at the international One Forest Summit. In a meeting with summit delegation members including the Gabonese Minister of Youth, the French Secretary of State in charge of Development, Francophonie and International Partnerships, and Ministers from Costa Rica, Uganda and Rwanda, our students had the opportunity to question their elders on measures being taken. Special congratulations to one of our scholars, a Year 13 student who has a place at the University of Ottawa to study Environmental Science, whose question “How can states support the young generation to educate themselves on biodiversity and planet protection?” provided a focal discussion point. A powerful reminder of the key role of education in enabling the younger generations to have a voice and to take action to save our planet.
