Last academic year, for the very first time, students of École Ruban Vert, the international school in Gabon, completed the International Baccalaureate examination. They secured a success rate of 100% in their first year, a genuine and amazing achievement. This year, again, this young school has attained the same pass rate and is thus propelled into the top league! Some students have also achieved the Bilingual International Baccalaureate (English and French).

These significant standards of excellence has enabled new graduates to join renowned institutions, such as Georgetown University, Maastricht University, Manchester University or the African Leadership University.

Within the philosophy of the International Baccalaureate, the school offers learners of different nationalities, cultures and social backgrounds a rich learning environment and encourages them to explore and build their own identities so that they in turn become true citizens of the world.

Furthermore, in order to offer young Gabonese who distinguish themselves by their academic excellence and their leadership abilities the opportunity to realise their full potential through the support of a team of qualified and motivated teachers, the school has a scholarship program of which 20% of its high school students are beneficiaries.

Opened in 2013, l’École Ruban Vert is now considered an example of best practice in Gabon and in the sub-region for students wishing to follow a bilingual secondary curriculum and be admitted into prestigious universities across the world. It also allows Gabon to establish its position in the large International Baccalaureate community, which currently numbers just over 170,000 learners in 156 countries.
